Youth Sports

I truly believe that parents should not be involved in youth sports. This year of little league has been hell! Parents have behaved like children. It is all about them and not about their kid. It’s rediculose.

They grip about everything and take no responsibility for their actions or their children’s behavior. It’s all the boards, team manager or coach fault. My husband is league President and I’m the treasurer. We do not normally serve on boards together but no one would step up for treasurer so i had no choice.

We have had team managers call us worthless and a joke a few weeks ago at the board meeting. Now mind you my husband had held field workdays and he has been the only person there working. In addition to managing a team he also mow’s fields, repairs toilets, picks up equipment on his way home from work, etc, etc,etc.

Our house looks like a bomb hit it because we are never home. I open and close snack bars at least 3 nights a week. Order uniforms and arrange extra events for the league to bring in more money.

While we have parents that do nothing and think it’s perfectly fine. Then they bitch at the board volunteers. They voice their opinions during games where children are present and can hear them. One parent this week, who was mad at my husband, was relentless and very vocal at our game. Then he started on my son and I lost it! I told the guy you got an issue with my husband you take it up with him but you dont talk to my kid at all! What is wrong with people anymore????

I think parents should have to observe from the out field. There should be a line they cannot pass. Same goes for soccer, football and basketball. Parents are so out of control these days. It’s so sad.
